About Us

The North Carolina State University Public Administration faculty represents one of the leading public administration programs nationally in research productivity.  PA faculty serve on the editorial boards of eight journals, including Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, National Civic Review, Public Administration Quarterly, Review of Public Personnel Administration, The Regionalist, and State and Local Government Review

Public administration faculty members are actively engaged in research and outreach projects. They have conducted studies for federal, state, and local agencies and nonprofit organizations. Faculty members have designed and taught in the Administrative Officers Management Program for law enforcement personnel, the N.C. Public Managers Program, and in workshops for new mayors and county commission chairpersons. Recently the program's involvement in nonprofit organizations and management has developed into the interdisciplinary Nonprofit Initiative.

Faculty are active in national and regional professional associations in public administration, policy analysis and management, public management, political science, city management, public opinion, nonprofit organizations, and program evaluation. Ranked in Top 20% of MPA graduate programs in the country by US News & World Report.
